              Saturday Drag Racing Action kicked off with over 200 cars posting for first round of competition. In the Super Pro quarterfinals it would be Boomer Ellison of Beavercreek against Dave Cox of Washington Court House. Boomer would dial a 5.14 to the 5.66 of Cox. Cox would have the better light with a .501, and made the pass in a 5.716 to beat a breaking out Ellison. Next was Ron Baisden of Columbus against Dave Caplinger of Xenia. Ron dialed a 6.67 to the 6.61 of Dave. Reaction time difference was .0040 to Caplinger’s advantage. When the pair made their way to the finish line, win light would go to Dave Caplinger with a 6.625 run.  The next pair to stage would be Rob Stacy of New Carlisle against Ken Sullivan of West Carrolton. Stacy’s dial was a 5.77 to the 5.15 of Sullivan. Sullivan got the better light with a .506, along with a 5.186 run for the win light. The last pair of the round would be Todd Filson of Fairborn against Jason Farquer of Hillsboro. Farquer would go red, moving Filson to the semis.

            In the Semis Filson faced Cox. Filson dialed a 4.99 to the 5.68 of Cox. Filson would be all over the tree with a .502 light, coupled with a 4.990 run dead on for the win light. Sullivan and Caplinger paired to see who would advance to the finals. Sullivan dialed a 5.16 to the 6.61 of Caplinger. At the tree it would be Caplinger with the better reaction time a .514, along with a 6.605 run for the double breakout win.

            It would be a dragster door car final, as Filson dialed a 4.98 on his dragster to the 6.60 on the Monza of Caplinger. Caplinger cut a .504 light, and ran dead on with a 6.601 for the win.

            In the pro quarters it would be Jason Wheatcraft of Jamestown and Mark Griffith of New Carlisle up first. Jason dialed a 10.46 to the 10.13 of Mark. Jason had the better light and would make the pass better with a 10.454 run for the win. Next would be Steve Collier of Xenia against James Sanders of Riverside. Sanders would give it away at the starting line with a .499 red light. Moving Collier to the next round. Last pair for the round would be Doug Caplinger of Xenia against Rich Wilson of Kettering. Caplinger dialed an 11.65 to the 10.36 of Wilson. Caplinger would have the better bulb, and ran an 11.660 to beat a breaking out Wilson.

            In the semis it would be Wheatcraft and Collier facing off to see who would run Bye runner Caplinger in the finals. Wheatcraft dialed a 10.44 to the 9.64 of Collier. Reaction time difference was only .0008 apart. When the pair reached the big end it would be Wheatcraft moving on with a 10.447 run.

            In the finals it would be Wheatcraft dialing a 10.43 to the 11.64 of Caplinger. Caplinger would get the starting line advantage with a .524 and it was all he needed to get the win running an 11.686 for the win.

            In the Sportsman quarters it would be Terry Knight of Fairborn against Dennis Young of Kettering. Knight dialed a 16.87 to the 12.27 of Young. Knight was on at the tree with a .501 light, along with a 16.872 run for the win light. Next was Sam Bunch of Centerville against Ricky Sheppherd of Dayton. Bunch dialed a 12.61 to the 12.00 of Shepherd. Bunch was better at the tree with a .523 light, and both ran hard, Sam would take the double breakout win with a 12.596 run. Joe Hoskins had the bye into the semis.

            In the semis it would be Hoskins and Knight. Hoskins dialed an 18.62 to the 16.85 of Knight. Knight had the better tree with a .568 he would make the pass with a 16.886 for the win light over a breaking out Hoskins. Sam Bunch had the bye.

            In the finals it was Bunch and Knight. Bunch had 12.59 on the dial to the 16.88 of Knight. Knight would go red making Bunch the winner.

            In Pro Bike it would be Bob Nuigent starting the round on the Bye run. Next up would be Larry Hunter of Xenia against Steve Withem of Fairborn. Hunter dialed a 9.44 to the 10.32 of Withem. Withem would be better at the light with a .539 and ran a 10.350 for the win light. Last pair for the round would be Dave Beavers of Urbana against Brad Shellhaas of Springfield. Dave dialed a 9.78 to the 9.10 of Brad. Reaction time difference was only  .0011 in favor of Beavers who made pass with a 9.916 run for the win.

            In the Semis it would be Nugent and Beavers with Withem on the Bye Run. Nugent dialed a 9.64 to the 9.81 of Beavers. Beavers got the reaction again this time with a  .531, but couldn’t hold the number, as Nugent went closer with a 9.760 for the win light.

            In the finals it would be Nugent dialing a 9.64 to the 10.33 of Withem. Reaction times were once again very close, but it would be Nugent getting the win with a  9.629 double breakout win.

            This Saturday was the Oreilly Jr. Dragster Challenge, over 40 junior dragster competitors made the call for first round in their age groups, In the 8-9 quarters it was Caleb Ellison of Beavercreek against Garreth Sheppeard of Tipp City. Ellison dialed a 12.99 to the 12.90 of Sheppeard. Sheppeard got the better reaction time, along with a 12.941 double breakout win. Next up was Tristan Strouse of Newark against Marissa Babb of Xenia.  Babb would go red and that moved Strouse to the next round. The last pair for the round was Hunter Hughes of Jamestown against Michael Roberts of Huber Heights. Hunter dialed a 13.23 to the 13.45 of Michael. Michael would get the better reaction time, and ran a 13.608 for the win light.

            In the semis it would be Roberts and Sheppeard racing to see who would meet Bye runner Tristan Strouse in the finals. Roberts diaelda 13.40 to the 12.90 of Sheppeard. Sheppeard would get the netter light, but then breakout moving Roberts to the finals.

            In the finals it would be Roberts dialing a 13.40 to the 13.02 of Strouse. Strouse got the better reaction time and the win light with a 13.121 for the win light.

            In the Junior 10-12 category it would be Shayla Babb of Xenia against Kenny Carson of Trenton. Babb dialed a 9.14 to the 8.90 of Carson. Carson had the better light and Babb would breakout, moving Carson to the next round. Next up was Melanie Rase of Hillsboro against James Smith of Beavercreek. Rase had the better light with a 9.325 for the win light. Shawn Allex of Xenia against and Paige Vance of New Carlisle. Shawn dialed an 8.90 to the 9.38 of Vance. Vance got a great light with a .5001 along with a 9.393 for the win.

            In the semis it would be Vance and Carson. Vance got a red light, moving Carson to the next round. Melanie Rase got the bye run.

            In the finals it would be Carson and Rase.Carson dialed an 8.94 to the 9.25 of Rase. At the tree it would be Rase with the better light a .504 but would breakout making Carson the Winner.

            In the 13 & up Class, it would be Megan Hughes of Jamestown against Mike Morris of Dayton. Hughes dialed an 8.16 to the 7.95 of Morris. Morris would be better at the tree along with an 8.038 run for the win light. Next would be Tyler Vance of New Carlisle against Emily Kathe of Xenia. Vance would dial a 7.98 to the 7.94 of Kathe. Vance got the better light but would breakout moving Kathe to the next round. Billy Sellman got the bye run.

            In the semis it would be Sellman and Kathe. Sellman dialed a 7.90 to the 7.93 of Kathe. Kathe was better on the tree and Sellman broke out, making Kathe the winner. Morris had the bye.

            In the finals it would be Morris dialing 7.90 to the 7.94 of Kathe. Morris would have the better light, and Kathe would breakout making Morris the winner.
