Fast timer Shane Shirk was on the move on the outside as he was moving up on Burba when Stroble spun on the frontstretch. Burba then made contact with Jones on the backstretch with Jones spinning and Burba sent to the tail. Poole had a comfortable lead with Davis second followed by Mahaffey, Jones, and Shirk at the halfway point. Shirk dropped sown on the inside of Jones as he tried for the fourth spot.
