Saturday Drag Racing action would see over 225 vehicles reporting to first round eliminations along with the Jeg’s Superquick Series. In the Jeg’s quarterfinals it would be Tim Thatcher of Xenia dialing a 4.59 to the 4.66 of Glenn Yancy of Waynesville. Yancey would get the better reaction time with a .508 light and would take the win light with a 4.700. Next would be Nick Hamilton of Presden dialing a 4.53 to the 4.51 of Bob Sheridan from Lynchburg. Hamilton would get the better light with a .532, but it would be Bob Sheridan with the breakout win with a 4.536 pass. Next would be Mike Bagley of Indianapolis against James Monrow from Bloomington, In. both dialed a 4.50 for a heads up race. Monrow would get the better reaction with a .507 and would take the double breakout win with a 4.481. The last pair for the round would be Jeff Brown of Marysville dialing a 4.50 to the 4.71 of Terry Smith from Middletown. Smith would get the better reaction time with a .515, and would take the win light with a 4.714. In the semis it would be Sheridan dialing a 4.51 to the 4.70 of Smith. Smith would go red moving Sheridan to the finals. Next would be Yancy dialing a 4.68 to the 4.50 of Monrow. Reaction times would be only .0002 difference to favor Yancey, however Monrow would take the breakout win with a 4.501. In the finals we would see Sheridan and Monrow, both dialed to a 4.50. Sheridan would get the reaction time battle with a .526, and would take the win with a 4.537 pass.
In the Sonic Drive In Super Pro quarterfinals it would be Dave Cox of Washington Courthouse dialing a 5.59 to the 4.80 of Todd Filson. Cox would be better at the tree with a .502 light, but it would be Filson with the win light on a 4.824 pass. Next would be Darren Campbell of Xenia dialing a 4.77 to the 6.18 of Glen Lakins from Trenton. Lakins would cut the better light with a .523, and would take the win light with a 6.177 pass. Steve Collier of Dayton would have the bye. In the semis it would be Lakins dialing a 6.17 to the 5.29 of Collier. Collier would go red moving Lakins to the finals. Filson would have the bye into the finals. In the finals Lakins would dial a 6.15 to the 4.77 of Filson. Filson would cut the better light with a .516 but would breakout, making Lakins the Sonic Drive In Super Pro winner. In the Buckminn’s D&D Harley Davidson Pro Bike Division quarterfinals we would see Rick Haupt of Farmersville dial an 8.48 to the 9.35 of Larry Hunter from Xenia. Hunter would have the better reaction time with a .509 light but it would be Haupt with the win light on a 9.392 ride. Next would be Thad Neeld of St. Paris dialing a 9.58 to the 9.56 of Bob Nugent from Trotwood. Bob would win the reaction time battle but only by .0007, he would also take the breakout win with a 9.604 ride. Scott Shepeard would have the bye run to the semis. In the semis it would be Nugent on the bye run into the finals. Next would be Shepeard dialing a 9.04 to the 8.48 of Haupt. Once again a close .0007 starting line battle would take place, Shepeard would have the advantage, but it would be Shepeard with the win light on a 9.048 pass. In the finals it would be Shepeard dialing a 9.04 to the 9.57 of Nugent. Nugent would cut a .525 light and would take the Buckminn’s D&D Harley Davidson Pro Bike win with a 9.589 ride. In the Pro class quarterfinals it would be Brett Randall of Xenia dialing a 5.86 against the 6.72 of Bo McDaniel of Franklin. McDaniel would go red moving Randall to the semis. Next would be IDDU’s James Sanders dialing a 6.94 to the 6.98 of Michael Dennis both from Riverside. Dennis would get a better reaction time with a .531 and would take the round win with a 7.041 pass. The last pair for the round would be Jason Ford of Kettering dialing a 6.51 to the 6.10 of John Engle from Xenia. Ford would cut a .516 for the better light and would take the round win with a 6.512 pass. In the semis it would be Randall dialing a 5.86 to the 6.98 of Dennis. Randall would cut the better light with a .538 and would take the round win with a 5.922 pass. Ford would have the bye run to the finals. In the finals we would see Randall dial a 5.86 to the 6.50 of Ford. Ford would cut the better light with a .525, but it would be Randall on the breakout win with a 5.898 pass. In the sportsman class quarterfinals we would see Mike Haines of Spring Valley dial a 12.15 to the 13.52 of Robert Fairchild from New Carlisle. Fairchild would go red moving Haines to the next round. Next would be Steve Collier of Xenia dialing a 12.47 to the 13.45 of John Cox from Vandalia. Cox would cut the better light with a .501 and would take the round win with a 13.523 pass. Next would be Sam Bunch of 12.05 to the 12.64of Doug Caplinger from Xenia. Bunch would cut a .516 for the starting line advantage, and would take the round win with a 12.087. David Rickey would have the bye run into the semis. In the semis it would be Haines dialing a 12.07 to 12.55 from Rickey. Rickey would go red moving Haines to the semis. Next would be bunch dialing a 12.06 to the 13.49 of Cox. Bunch would get the better light with a .535 and would take the double breakout win with a 12.038. In the finals it would be Haines dialing a 12.09 to the 12.02 of Sam Bunch. Bunch would cut a .526 light and would take the class win with a 12.064 pass. |
