Over 200 cars would show for first round of eliminations on Saturday’s rescheduled Junior Dragster Challenge. All classes would start the event, but late night severe weather would see Super Pro, Pro, and Sportsman split, and Pro Bike return to finish their race. The Junior Dragster participants were able to conclude their racing for the day, which would be the final Junior Dragster Points Race of the 2011 season. In the Junior Dragster 10-12 class quarterfinals we would see, Taylor Cook of West Chester dial an 8.90 to the 8.93 of Kyle Beavers from Urbana. Beavers would cut a .549 light and would take the breakout win with an 8.962 pass. Next would be Shelby Stacy from New Carlisle dial an 8.90 to the 8.93 of AJ Kendall from Wapakoneta. Stacy would get a .546 reaction time and would take the win with a 9.000 pass. Next would be Sheldon Van Horn of Sidney and Garreth Sheppeard of Springfield dialed 8.90 for a heads up race. Van Horn would go red moving Sheppeard to the next round. Chase Wallace of Sugar Notch, PA. would have the bye run into the semis. In the semis we would see Sheppeard dialing an 8.90 to the 11.15 of Wallace. Sheppeard would go red moving Wallace to the finals. Next would be Stacy dialing an 8.90 to the 8.92 of Beavers. Stacy would have the better light by .006 with a .610, but it would be Beavers at the finish line with a 9.062 for the win. In the finals we would see dial an 8.97 to the 11.30 of Wallace. Beavers would have the better reaction with a .581, but it would be Chase Wallace taking home the Junior Wally, his first with an 11.320 pass. Beavers would take the 2011 10-12 Junior Dragster Championship with the day’s points. In the 13 & up class quarterfinals we would see Mikah Miller and Shayla Babb both from Xenia dialing 7.90 for a heads up race. Miller would go red moving Babb to the semis. Next would be Megan Hughes of Jamestown dialing 9.05 to the 7.90 of Ben Browder from Fairborn. Browder would go red moving Hughes to the next round. Next would be Paige Vance of New Carlisle and Ky Crum of Jamestown heads up racing on a 7.90 dial. Crum would get the reaction with a .540, but it would be Vance on the double breakout with a 7.899. The last pair for the round would be James Smith dialing a 7.90 to the 8.14 if Walt Crum, both of Beavercreek. Crum would go red moving Smith to the semis. In the semis it would be Babb dialing a 7.90 to the 7.92 of Smith. Smith would cut a.510 light and would take the breakout win with a 7.923. The last pair for the round would be Hughes dialing a 9.10 to the 7.90 of Vance. Hughes would get a .523 light, but it would be Vance on the win light with a 7.915 pass. In the finals we would see Vance dial a 7.90 to the 7.91 of Smith. Vance would get the better reaction with a .586, and would take the win with a 7.936 pass. Kay Crum would come out as the 2011 Junior Dragster 13 & Up Champion.
