Kil-Kare Speedway Braden, Stansell and
Hoelscher Repeat Winners at Kil-Kare Heading the pack for the start of the late model feature was former legend car driver Terry Scherz on the pole along with first night feature winner Shawn Stansell. Scherz took the lead but the Robbie Dean 94 winner, Brandon Oakley took to the outside to take the lead on lap two. Dash winner Dick Dunlevy moved into second but here came fast timer Travis Braden moving up. Dunlevy closed the door on Oakley and shot to the inside of Oakley, making contact on turn four as they rubbed but Oakley shook him off. Dunlevy tried it again on turn four on the next lap as he was not giving up. Dunlevy kept the inside line but it was Oakley showing as the leader but lap thirteen showed Dunlevy. It was one of the best battles of the season with Dunlevy out front with Braden on the inside of Oakley for second and Don Mahaffey right behind. Veteran
Dunlevy continued to lead the rookies of Oakley and Braden lap after
lap. Oakley tried to come back on the outside but the ole pro kept
shaking him off as Braden watched the action. The five lap signal was
given and Braden tried to nudge under Dunlevy but Dunlevy held him
off, but Braden made a daring move with three laps to go as Braden took
the lead leaving a disappointed Dunlevy second with Mahaffey third.
Oakley was fourth and Bob Sibila fifth. Russ Bobb and Terry scherz made up the front row of the second late model heat with Bobb taking the front spot but here came Don Mahaffy on the outside, passing car after car to take the lead on lap four. Mahaffey handily claimed the win with Bobb second, Scherz third, and Shawn Stansell fourth. The regular nights modified feature saw Caleb Reschar on the pole with previous weeks winner Mike Carroll alongside of him. They ran side by side with Carroll taking the lead with Reschar second as Kyle Jones and Ryan Fleming battled for third. Tyler Nuckles advanced to fourth displacing Fleming as Jones passed Reschar on the inside to claim second with Tyler Nuckles now in third with Bill Burba fourth and Greg Stapleton fifth. Stapleton then made a pass on Nuckles to take third as Carroll, the leader, weeded through traffic when Stapleton brought the caution out when his left front time blew. Carroll had Jones on his rear bumper for the restart with three time winner Greg Stapleton third. The front runners bunched up with five cars putting on a display of super driving for the fans. Greg Stapleton challenged Jones for second, and did so and then it was leader Carroll he was after. The three cars ran as if under a blanket with the pressure on Carroll. Stapleton pulled alongside of Carroll as they ran wheel to wheel but lap twenty five saw Jones slip under Carroll on turn three for the lead as Carroll dropped back to third. Jones had the front spot across the stripe for his first win of the year in his BMC special. Second was Greg Stapleton followed by Mike Carroll, Tyler Nuckles, and Bill Burba. It was Caleb Reachar and Jerry Stapleton in the front row of the modified make-up feature which was rained out two weeks prior. Stapleton took the lead but it was short lived as Reschar dropped a tire coming out of turn four making for a complete restart. Stapleton again took the lead on the start with Jason Mahaffey and Bill Burba chasing him followed by Derek Weatherhead. Three wide they went into turn one and when they came out it was Burba in front. Tyler Nuckles was on the move as he went to work chasing second place running Mahaffey as Burba enjoyed a good lead. Nuckles
slipped under Mahaffey on lap thirteen to take second and at the halfway
it was still Burba with Nuckles trying to catch him with Mahaffey third
and Weatherhead right behind Mahaffey. Burba maintained the lead for his
first win of the year in the
Neff's Lawncare special.
Nuckles was second with Mahaffey third folllowed by Weatherhead and
Stapleton. The caution flew on lap fourteen when several cars mixed it up on turn four and when the green came back out Stansell jumped out to a good lead with Hannah still in second but Sites and Digges were gaining on her each lap. Sites deopped down on the inside of Hannah to steal second with Digges following dropping Hannah to fourth and when the checker waved it was Stansell's Dad's Auto Body sponsored car taking their sixth win followed by Jamie Sites, Travis Digges, Courtney Hannah, and Mike South Jr. Travis Digges and Jeff Marsh led the sport stock first heat to the green with Digges taking the lead followed by Marsh with Shawn Stansell battling fast timer Bill Ramey for third. Stansell made a move on Marsh for second with previous weeks winner Jamie Site moving into third and was chasing Stansell when the checker came out on winner Digges with Stansell second. Sites third, and Ramey fourth. The second heat had Rodney Roush and John Longstreth leading the pack and when the green unfoiled Roush shot into the lead with Tyler Mahaffey taking second as Steve Snapp snapped into third. Snapp then moved to the outside to give Mahaffey a run for second as Roush continued to lead but the yellow flew when Mahaffey lost it on turn one and spun putting Snapp behind Roush with Duane Bohrer in third and Courtney Hannah fourth. When the checker waved it was Roush, Snapp, Bohrer and Hannah fourth. Davey Shaw and Paul Holley set the pace in the regular compact twenty lap feature and it was a drag race into turn one as Joe Hoelscher turned Holley sideways resulting in a complete restart. Shaw had the lead with Hoelscher second but second didn't last long as Hoelscher really flew into the front spot leaving Williams in second and Matt Stone third with Shaw fourth and Ron Sagers riding fifth. Lap seven was lucky for Stone as he passed Williams for second but Hoelscher had a big lead with sparks flying from under his car. Hoelscher continued to work his way around slower cars as he lapped car after car. When the checker waved it was another win for the Riverside resident making it win number nine. Stone was a distant second with Gary Williams third followed by Davey Shaw and Matt Barrett. The compact make-up feature had Carroll Neese out front but by the time they hit the stripe on the first lap it was Bo Hoelscher in command after that. Gary Williams was second but Matt Stone was reeling him in as they diced for second with Stone taking second on lap six leaving Williams in third with Bryan Lynch trying to catch him but Lynch brought the caution out on lap seven when he stopped on turn four after contact with the wall. On the restart it looked like it was going to be a show down between Hoelscher and Stone as they chased each other riding one and two leaving Williams way back in third with Joe Hoelscher not far behind him. Hoelscher and his T.J. Staples machine claimed their eighth feature of the year with Stone second followed by Gary Williams, Joe Hoelscher, and Carroll Neese. Kil-Kare
